Arai

Writer's picture: Kawasaki RiderKawasaki Rider

My first helmet in the Philippines was an AGV K3 Gothic. It was good value for money and I loved the Gothic design

I used it for a few years and whilst good it had one major flaw. The visor would snap open when going quickly if I looked over my shoulder. Now, those of you who have had this happen will know that it at best disconcerting and at worse downright dangerous.

I had always worn Arai helmets even when competing in Kart racing and I have always rated them highly. The problem here is that there are no official suppliers/ I eventually found a shop that stocked them and purchased an Arai RX7 Crutchlow

It is great, normal Arai quality and fit with the annoying visor removal/replacement system.

I have not got rid of the AGV though. Good spare Helmet.
